Solution 1

Interior Drain Tile Method

  • The waterproofing starts by covering all your valuables with plastic to prevent any possible damage during the repair of your leaky basement walls and floor.
  • Remove the concrete floor approximately one foot and remove the old drain tile, if any, for inspection.
  • Flush remaining inside drain tile with high-pressure air and water.
  • Drill block cores and test hole for proper drainage.
  • Drill bleeders to the exterior drain tile and flush clean to allow the system to work.
  • Install new drain tile and connect to the existing system at the area of floor removed.
  • Cover drain tile with proper filtering stone to allow water to drain properly.
  • Re-cement floor at work area.
  • Check existing Palmer Valve or sump pump system for proper operation.
  • Clean job site in the area are repaired and remove all debris created.
  • City permits may be required and will be included upon request.

Exterior Excavation Method is used when basement wall bulging or wall tipped inwards over 1 inch along with the leaky or wet walls

  • Major items covered with plastic and carpet runners before we initiate our waterproofing process to repair the leaky basement.
  • Cover grass with plywood sheathing to protect repair area.
  • Excavate foundation to the footing.
  • Haul away clay, set hydraulic jacks, remove loose back-plaster.
  • Chip out mortar joints as necessary for straightening.
  • Straighten walls back to their original position.
  • Rebuild block walls that are severely bulged

Re-waterproof Exterior with 4-Step Process

  1. Back-plaster cement from footing to grade line.
    Seal coat of waterproofing hydro-shield mastic over back-plaster.
  2. Cover back-plaster and seal-coat with vapor barrier plastic.
  3. Insulation to be installed on walls for expansion control.
  • Flush out bleeders and inside drain tile to sump pump or sewer.
  • Install new exterior drain tile and connect to texisting system at trench.
  • Cover new drain tile with engineered lightweight non-expandable stone to one foot from the top surface per WAFRP standards.
  • Cover drain tile and stone back-fill with filter fabric.
  • Install custom engineered steel structures at intervals of Approx. 32″ on center.
  • Reinforce walls with concrete piers and steel rods in cells of block if needed.
  • Re-mortar broken block and mortar joints (tuck-point) inside and outside.
  • Compact topsoil with proper pitch at area excavated.
  • Reinstall window wells with 100% stone to footing.
  • Clean the job site at the repair area and remove all debris as requested.
  • City permits may be required and will be included upon request.
