Our Story
80 Years of Family Foundation Experience
American Foundation Specialists has been fixing foundations in Southeastern Wisconsin since 1947. In all that time, one thing hasn't changed: it's a family business, and the family's name is on every job.
Today the company is led by Tony Zidar, Jr. and his son Jayme Zidar, who started working in the business at 16 and learned the trade from the ground up, in basements, trenches and job sites across Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine and Kenosha counties. That kind of hands-on experience is something you can't hire or buy. It's built one foundation at a time.
We've seen how Wisconsin's clay soil, freeze-thaw winters and aging drainage affect homes of every age, from century-old stone foundations to basements poured last decade. That experience is what lets us look at a crack or a wet wall and tell you plainly what's causing it and what it will take to fix it.

On August 9 and 10, 2025, a storm dropped up to 14.55 inches of rain on southeast Wisconsin in less than a day. Rivers rose to record levels and basements flooded across Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. As calls poured in from homeowners, CBS 58 News interviewed Jayme Zidar of American Foundation Specialists about the flooding and the work our crews were doing to help families recover.
